This week some of the Grade 5 students got to start off our math unit around fractions using different manipulatives to represent equivalent fractions. Using manipulatives is a great way for students to understand mathematical concepts in a visual hands on way. Many of the students were making real life connections to fractions in our world.
This week was the first round of our final rotations for CTF with Grade 5 and 6 students. It's exciting for them because the students were able to choose their top choices for their final two rotations. Since the Fall, the Grade 5 and 6 students have been trying out each CTF course and now in their final rotations will be working towards a final project to complete.
