This week has been full of engaging and exciting learning opportunities across Pineridge School!
In music, students have begun learning how to play the recorder. They are developing foundational skills such as proper hand placement, breath control, and reading simple notes. It has been wonderful to hear the first sounds of music filling our music room as students build confidence with this new instrument.
In physical education, students have started a basketball unit. They are working on fundamental skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting, while also learning about teamwork and game strategies. It has been great to see students staying active and encouraging one another.
In the classroom, Grade 6 students are building their digital literacy skills by learning how to conduct research online. They are exploring how to find reliable information, ask meaningful questions, and organize their learning in thoughtful ways.
In math, there has been a strong focus on developing math fact fluency. Students are practicing strategies to build accuracy and efficiency, helping them strengthen their overall number sense.
Our library has also been a busy and joyful space, with students spending time exploring and enjoying a wide variety of books. It’s been wonderful to see their excitement for reading continue to grow.
