General Health Measures
In all matters of health, CBE takes direction from Alberta Education and Alberta Health Services. Find out how you can reduce the spread and lessen the impact of illness in school communities.
Routine Immunizations
The CBE supports the AHS school-based immunization program.
Attendance Line: 403-777-6750 ext.1
Please leave a message on the attendance line if your child will be absent or late. For more information about our policies, see our Attendance page. For extended absences please call the school office.
Medications
To obtain a medical form, go to the CBE Forms You Need page.
The Alex - Dental Health Bus
The Alex Dental Health Bus provides essential preventative oral health services and support primarily to children and youth at schools in identified high-need areas. It is estimated that 80% of tooth decay is found in 25% of children, and these children are largely from low-income populations. By providing low-barrier dental care on wheels, The Alex is dramatically improving the quality of life for Calgary’s most vulnerable youth.
Allergies
Please be very aware that Pineridge School does not allow peanuts or food containing peanuts. We have students with peanut allergies and want to keep them safe. Before you buy snacks (such as granola bars) please check the ingredient list. Items made in a peanut free facility are best. This also means no more peanut butter sandwiches. We understand that this can be difficult so please help us work together to keep all our students safe.
Lice
There may be times during the school year when we have cases of head lice.
If your child has head lice, please contact the school and let us know. If your child has been exposed to lice at school we will notify you.
As a precaution, we ask all parents to check their child’s head frequently for a few weeks after any exposure. You can find more information on lice from myhealth.alberta.ca.
