As we wrap up another wonderful week at Pineridge School, I would like to thank our students, staff, and families for helping make it such a positive and productive end to the month!
This week, we completed our first fire drill of the year. We are pleased to share that the drill went very well. Students and staff followed procedures carefully, demonstrating responsibility and preparedness. Practicing these routines helps ensure that everyone knows what to do in the event of an emergency and contributes to a safe learning environment for all.
On Thursday afternoon, students participated in a Cultural Activity Afternoon focused on Indigenous Games and Ways of Knowing. This special event was planned and facilitated by our outstanding Student Leadership team. Students had the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities, learn through experience, and deepen their understanding of Indigenous perspectives and traditions. We are incredibly proud of our leadership students for the care, enthusiasm, and organization they brought to the afternoon.
Our Evening Open House on Thursday night was a wonderful opportunity to welcome families into our school community. Families participated in a school-wide scavenger hunt, explored learning spaces throughout the building, and had the chance to meet staff members who support their children's learning each day. It was great to see so many families connecting with one another and becoming more familiar with the people and spaces that make Pineridge such a special place to learn. A special shout out to our amazing School Council for helping, running a table and giving out some great prizes.
Throughout the week, classrooms across the school were filled with meaningful learning experiences. Students continued building classroom routines, strengthening relationships with peers and staff, and engaging in learning activities that challenged their thinking and creativity. From literacy and numeracy learning to collaborative projects, inquiry, and hands-on activities, students demonstrated curiosity, perseverance, and a commitment to learning. It has been exciting to see students settling into the school year and growing in confidence as learners.
